Abstract |
The subject of the article deals with features of interaction of civil society and culture in its broadest sense. On the basis of socio-cultural and institutional approaches social interactions of civil society are considered. Binary interactions of civil society are figured out: civil society and the state, civil society and capitalism, civil society and culture. As an example of interaction between the state and civil society the author uses the modern social state and the welfare state, the occurrence of which is directly associated with civil society. Steadfast opposition between government and civil society contributed to the processes of differentiation of various spheres of society, industrialization and urbanization, as well as the isolation of an independent and autonomous individual with social and democratic rights and freedoms. The cooperation between the state and civil society is exemplified by modern social state and welfare state, the appearance of which is directly linked with the civil society. The development of civil society in Western Europe and the United States took place in parallel with the capitalist relations formation. The obligatory condition of emergence, existence and development of civil society is the emergence of economic self-sufficiency of all citizens on the basis of private property. The article shows that the binary interaction of culture and civil society incorporates the contradictions of state and civil society, capitalism and civil society. In the framework of globalization the values of the Western culture (including the value of civil society) are spreading around the world. Modern civil society is associated not just with the western type of culture, but with the culture in the broadest sense, with socio- cultural processes taking place in the world. In this sense culture determines not only its binary interactions with civil society, but also affects the global market economy, capitalism and state. Culture is considered as a mechanism to facilitate the emergence of self-organization of a society. The article is performed within the state order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation under the topic «The methodology of social interactions research of civil society, culture and education in modern conditions». |
